ADVOCACY
Chicago CF CARE Specialists remains committed in advocating
for all individuals afflicted with CF on a local, regional, and national level.
Local
Chicago CF CARE Specialists Advisory Council is dedicated in meeting
unfilled needs of parents and patients alike. This highly enthusiastic panel
of patients, parents and lay people continue to develop new projects designed
to help their local CF community.
Regional
We are very active in local CF Foundation activities—from supporting
fundraisers to participating in Great Strides. In addition, Dr. Boas serves
on the Illinois Department of Public Health Subcommittee for Newborn Screening
advocating for mandatory newborn screening for cystic fibrosis.
National
Through service on National committees such as the American Association
for Respiratory Care and the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Boas lends
his voice in advocating for cystic fibrosis-related public policy, development of position
statements, and creation of educational opportunities for the public and
healthcare workers.
